Driving:

  • National Highway No. 1 (Sun Yat-sen Freeway):

    Exit at the Chiayi Interchange → County Hwy 159 → Provincial Highway 18 (Alishan Highway) → Chukou → Longmei → Xiding → Longtou → Shizhao → Alishan Forest Recreation Area → Hotel Area → Gau Shan Ching Hotel

  • National Highway No. 3:

    Exit at the Zhongpu Interchange and drive towards Zhongpu/ Chiayi → drive towards Zhongpu/ Chiayi → Provincial Highway 18 (Alishan Highway) → Chukou → Longmei → Xiding → Longtou → Shizhao → Alishan Forest Recreation Area → Hotel Area → Gau Shan Ching Hotel

Public Transportation:

  • High Speed Rail + Bus:

    Take High Speed Rail to THSR Chiayi Station → Take Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 7329 (Alishan Route A) at exit No. 2

    ※ Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Fare is calculated by section around TWD 278/ one way. Ticket on Bus.

  • Train + Bus:

    1. Alishan Forest Railway is only available from Chiayi Station to Fenqihu Station. Exit at Fenqihu Station → Take Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 7329A (Alishan Route A(via ⇔Fenqihu)) or Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 7322D (Alishan Route B(via ⇔Fenqihu))

      ※ Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Fare is calculated by section around TWD 98/ one way. Ticket on Bus.

    2. Taketrain to Chiayi Railway Station → Take Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 7322C (Alishan Route B)

      ※ Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Fare is calculated by section around TWD 240/ one way. Ticket on Bus/ over the counter.

Reminder:

  • Buses and shuttles stop at Alishan Bus Station. It’s a 10-minute walk from the bus station to Gau Shan Ching Hotel.
